Nicole McMullen, RD
My journey to becoming a Registered Dietitian started at West Chester University of Pennsylvania where I received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics. From there I started working in the nutrition field as a Nutritionist at The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) where I counseled mothers on healthy eating for the entire family. While working at WIC, I received my Master of Arts degree in Nutrition Education from Immaculata University. Immaculata is also where I completed my Dietetic Internship to officially become a Registered Dietitian.
After my schooling I started my career as a Clinical Dietitian in a long-term care facility and then moved on to Pennsylvania Hospital. While in the hospital I expanded my knowledge about various disease states and learned how to provide nutritional care for critically ill patients. I then moved on to outpatient nutrition where I counseled patients throughout the bariatric surgery process. I received my Level 1 Certificate in Adult Weight Management, which helped me to better counsel patients on healthy and effective weight loss techniques. I have also been in private practice since 2015 where I have helped clients with various nutritional needs such as: healthy eating, weight loss, specialized diets, food allergies, sports nutrition, diabetes control, improving high blood pressure & high cholesterol, and many more.
I believe that healthy eating should be enjoyable and not a chore. There is always room for your favorite foods and I will never suggest that you eat something you don’t like! I enjoy helping people build a healthy relationship with food and break free from chronic dieting.
When I am not counseling I love to cook, bake, and try new restaurants. I enjoy spending as much time as possible on the beach and one of my favorite activities is walking along the water collecting sea glass.
I look forward to helping you eat better and feel better!
