So many of us go through life thinking that we have to suffer through the pain. We even start to accept the pain as part of our daily routines and rituals. It has become a passion of mine to show people that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it just takes someone with a flashlight to help light the path.
My passion first grew for this field as an undergrad at Rutgers University where I received my BA in Psychology. I then went on to obtain my MSW at New York University Silver School of Social Work where I specialized in Children and Family Therapy. I’ve spent the initial five years of my professional development working with children of all ages, adolescences, young adults, couples, individuals, and all types of families. I work with a wide variety of issues including: depression, anxiety disorders, behavioral issues, grief and loss, marital issues, ADD/ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, parental issues, family structure dynamics, and trauma.
Throughout my studies and experiences I have developed astrong belief in the teachings of Structural Family Therapy and Attachment Theories. Because of this, I have a special passion for working with families, adolescents, and young adults. I also incorporate the modalities of CBT, DBT,Family Systems Therapy, Existential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Play Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Integrative Therapy, and Animal Assisted Therapy.
I don’t subscribe to a philosophy that people are broken and need to be fixed. Rather, I see each individual as needing assistance with figuring out the right structure of the ‘puzzle pieces’ of their life in order to see the “big” picture.A lot of what I do and love is the detective work to help you find the answers inside that allows you to become the best version of yourself. I like to challenge all of my clients to see different perspectives, and step out of their comfort zones in order to evolve and begin a transformation. I’m here to tell you that change is possible and I know that I can shine the light for you.
In my free time I love to workout, dance, travel as much as I can, and spend time with my friends and family!
